The Downtown Ficiton

Maybe it's too late to know The Downtown Fiction in 2010, but I think there's no word "late" to know everything that you should to know. Actually, when first time I watched their official video (I Just Wanna Run) on youtube, I have no special feeling for this band or their song. They like another indie band with cute vocalist Cameron Leahy, cool bassist David Pavluk, and another cool and cute guy Eric Jones on drum. After I heard their full EP "Best I Never Heard" I started to realize that "ooooh this band is different, I'm falling in love with them. Their songs like soundtrack in my life (lebay)", since that I searching anything about them, their songs, their biography, their photos (of course), etc. And this is a little biography about this band from wikipedia

Music career

Early Years

Lead singer and guitar player Cameron Leahy met drummer Eric Jones in high school, where they became friends. They had a mutual interest in music, and formed The Downtown Fiction in the summer of 2008. They began to post demos on the band's MySpace page, where their fan base initialized. Needing a bassist, Cameron and Eric added David Pavluk to the band, who also is responsible for background vocals. "The Downtown Fiction" is inspired by the film Pulp Fiction, a favorite film of Cameron and Eric.

Recent

The Downtown Fiction toured for a year, and were soon signed to Photo Finish Records, an independent New York record label. They were a part of the Bamboozle Road Show 2010 and the Warped Tour 2010, and the “100 Bands You Need To Know” issue of Alternative Press Magazine. A self-titled EP by the band was released in March 2009, featuring a few of their rising hit songs, including "Is Anybody Out There?" and "Living Proof." This EP was succeeded by an additional EP a year later in March 2010 called "Best I Never Had." In August 2010, the band premiered their first music video for the single "I Just Wanna Run." It is so far their most popular song, and is the first radio single for their first album "Let's Be Animals." The Downtown Fiction released their third EP entitled "The Double E.P," which consists incorporates all of their preceding EP's tracks, and a rough demo song called "Keep On Moving." In late February 2011, the band kicked off The Glamour Kills Tour which featured The Ready Set as the headliner, along with Allstar Weekend, We Are The In Crowd, and briefly Marianas Trench. In early April, the band's first single for their debut album premiered, entitled "Thanks For Nothing." In late April 2011, "Let's Be Animals," the band's first full-length studio album was released. The Downtown Fiction will also embark on their first headlining nationwide tour with the same album name. The Let's Be Animals Tour will also have Amely, Cady Groves, The Summer Set, We the Kings, and He Is We.
